Collection: Consultation
It’s no secret.
Being a therapist is a lonely business.
Once licensed and the requirement for supervision is off the table, our work-life experiences are private. For some, this might feel liberating at first – freedom to develop your style and approach, freedom to be more creative in session, and freedom in your time! For others, this might feel terrifying – no one to bounce ideas off of, no help developing treatment plans, worry you might be missing something.
Because our work with our clients is confidential, the ability to share our thoughts and process our experiences in the therapy room is very limited, if not nonexistent. We are not able to share the details of our day with our partners and friends. We have to keep it all to ourselves. There may also be times when we might be dealing with a difficult situation or having trouble understanding how best to move forward with a client. If you are lucky, you may have a consultation group or a mentor from whom you seek guidance.
At Therapist Marketplace we recognize the desire and need for peer support, guidance, consultation and supervision. Fortunately, in our current, technologically advanced world, we can connect with people all over the world! Therapist Marketplace would like to help make these introductions!
Our goal is to connect therapists who need support with therapists who can offer support. This might be in the form of peer consultation groups, supervision or brief consultations. The ability to connect with peers and process therapeutic challenges or stressors, discuss business practice development and help you connect with leaders in the field can be a valuable tool in your professional development.
